Kitchen spraying in Nottingham

Kitchen spraying in Nottingham

Change the look of your kitchen without replacing the whole kitchen.

Careful preparation and a spray-applied finish can give suitable cabinet doors and fitted surfaces a clean, modern look, with far less disruption than a complete refit.

What matters

A colour change can transform a tired kitchen

Where the existing units are structurally sound, respraying can be a practical way to modernise the room. The key is careful cleaning, preparation, masking and using a coating system suited to the surface.

Less upheaval

Keeping the existing layout can avoid much of the disruption involved in removing and replacing a complete kitchen.

Wide colour choice

A respray can move a kitchen from dated tones to a cleaner contemporary palette without changing the cabinetry.

Finish-led preparation

Degreasing, abrasion and suitable primers matter enormously on surfaces that are handled every day.

The kitchen spraying process

The finish depends on cleaning, preparation and masking.

Kitchen doors and cabinetry live in a demanding environment. Cooking residue, cleaning products, hand contact and years of use can leave contamination that paint should not simply be sprayed over. I start by identifying the existing surface, checking its condition and preparing it for the coating system I'm using.

Removable doors and drawer fronts can often be labelled and taken off so edges and faces can be prepared more consistently. Fixed carcass sections, end panels, plinths and other suitable components may need careful masking and on-site preparation. Handles, hinges, worktops, appliances and surrounding surfaces need to be protected from overspray.

Respray or replace?

Spraying makes most sense when the layout works and the cabinetry is fundamentally sound, but the colour or finish feels dated. It cannot correct every structural problem. Swollen boards, failing laminates, badly damaged doors or worn hardware may need repair or replacement before cosmetic refinishing is worthwhile.

Colour and sheen

The colour change can be subtle or dramatic. Neutral whites, warm greys, greens and darker tones can completely alter how the kitchen relates to worktops, flooring and wall colours. The sheen and exact colour range depend on the coating system used. I'll confirm both with you before any work begins.

What to send for a useful quote

Clear photographs of the whole kitchen plus closer images of doors, drawer fronts and any damaged areas are useful. A rough door and drawer count, the postcode and the type of finish currently on the units can make an initial conversation much more productive.

Common questions

Questions about kitchen spraying

Can every kitchen be sprayed?

No. The existing surface and condition need to be assessed first. Damaged, peeling or unsuitable finishes may need additional work or may not be appropriate for spraying.

Do the doors have to come off?

Many projects are easier to prepare and finish with doors and drawer fronts removed, while fixed sections are masked and treated in place where appropriate.

Can I choose any colour?

A wide range of colours is usually possible, although the available finish depends on the coating system selected for the job.
